Spas Healing

In my experience, having worked in a spa for about a year, people frequent delightful little day spas around the country for a variety of reasons. Some are simply looking for a quick fix for a troublesome back; others are health gurus-those who scamper from the gym, to the steam room to the massage table and back again and still some are petty, plasticy looking woman who have merely chipped a nail and are convinced that this nail is the reason that they are divorced, unattractive and lonely. For all of these categories of people spas can be viewed as a mere luxury for those who can afford it. It is there to help them work out minor kinks, it is there to serve a wacked out health nut’s obsessive-compulsive disorder and it is there to remind pompous rich women that as long as they have enough money they can have monthly Botox injections and be as pompous as they please. Others though seek out spa facilities for something that goes more than just skin deep. Visitors to the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, California are there to quell there feelings of anxiety, depression and other mood disorders all of which are increasingly present in modern-day society.

The Chopra Center offers plenty of health-conscious programs designed to help people manage stress, cope with illnesses and heal emotional pain. Classes are taught by co-founders Deepak Chopra and David Simon and are usually a week or several weeks long. These programs, which include: The Perfect Health Series, The Soul of Healing and Emotional Freedom are all accompanied by yoga classes, meditation and ayurvedic spa treatments. The Chopra Center is the perfect place for people to unwind and escape the mental anguishes of a terminal illness or the news of the death of a loved one. Instead of just making a person feel better on the outside, the Chopra Center focuses on rejuvenating people’s insides. Last year, as reported by the Press Release Newswire the Chopra Center had a record turnout of clients. While it is disturbing that there are so many people having to deal with troubled times in their lives, it is also reassuring that these people are not dejected by the chip of a nail or a wrinkle on their forehead.
