So four Bay Area foot spas (or perhaps a more elegant term, pedicure salons) have gotten slapped with hefty fines because their facilities were not up to par with the cleanliness factor.  How not up to par, you ask?  Try skin boils and other nasty infectionsto the epidermis.  Customers may leave with un-callused and prettily painted toes and an inflamed, bumbling skin lesion for extra attractiveness.  Ladies who are currently reading this and thinking: “I have my own nail file and bottle of “Pornstar Pink” polish” can rest assured that the spas under scrutiny are required to clean up their acts-and their salons.  But for added protection the article appearing in the San Jose Mercury News suggests to avoid waxing or shaving before a pedicure, to further protect against infection.  And if you happen to get an infection even with your unshaved limbs, you can rest assured that even with your hairy legs and bubbling boil, you will have the prettiest toes on the planet!  Happy Spa-ing!
