Why is it that when you get a whiff of lavender, sage and chamomile you immediately undergo a sense of relaxed calm?  These aromas are especially notorious within the walls of luxurious day spas-which perhaps best explains our association with the tranquil smells.  We undergo a sort of Pavlov’s dog reaction when our noses detect lavender, sage or chamomile because we know what these smells mean: a rejuvenating massage, a cleansing facial, a warming body scrub-anything that implies lying back and being pampered.  They help promote a stress-free existence.  Now, if only we can find a way to continuously pump the scent of lavender into the air.  The question is: would we still be productive?
