This spa use to be so much better. We have visited very many times over the years and it seems like every time we come back they have taken more and more things away. The services are nice but we specifically choose this spa to be able to spend the whole day relaxing. The pool is freezing and the food options are now just “snack” options. They have now taken away another hot tub and turned two rooms into rooms with a salt wall. I have had problems with the lockers every time that I have visited since the “remodel” and this weekend only half the lockers were actually supplied with robes and flip flops. All the ladies that had been visiting clearly for the first time had obviously not been told how anything worked or how to get themselves situated so we had to help. Really really sad to see this place go downhill.

Beyond Disappointed in the new management!!! Loved my services- Mel is THE best aesthetician and Sarah for body polishing- delightful! We have been coming to the Avani for years, love doing a few spa treatments, linger around the pool for lunch and a dip in the pool/hot tub, then go do 1 or 2 more treatments. NOT this year! New management now forbids food/drinks (except nuts or smoothies) by the pool - what a way to disrupt a full service (and very expensive) day for the client. Takes away from the whole experience. There is no visible water stations anywhere- how do you not offer water/tea for guests who are having these services. When I checked out and asked about a survey, the totally rude manager (standing behind the person checking me out) didnt respond to my question, but told the person checking me out the answer, "they can only get info to me if theyre a guest at the hotel" SHE didnt even address me at all-I was standing right there.... so unprofessional, NOT someone who should be running a spa with high end services- will be bringing our business to Grand Geneva! She will be the demise of Avani.

Went here for a girls spa day & facial services. Was very excited as their website says the facility is newly renovated. The rust on the ceiling, unfinished plywood surfaces, & multiple amenities out of order would say otherwise. Very disappointed with the misleading info. Facial was okay, esthetician could have been more friendly and I would have preferred she used actual extraction tools rather than using her fingers to pop pimples, I could have done that at home.

Update 10/22: Im so disappointed at how things have changed. The once warm, inviting atmosphere has become cold thanks to grey paint, bright white lighting, and the replacement of the zen gardens with concrete slabs. Formerly cushioned lounge chairs are bare and uncomfortable, and there are fewer of them. No more bowl of fruit - only one type of water "infused" with a handful of lemon slices rather than the former variety of choices - and no actual food available from room service anymore. I had called ahead to confirm the number of passes I had remaining prior to my visit with friends, but was not warned that the steam room and womens hot tub were both out of commission. And they do not sell the package of day passes any longer; you must purchase the single day pass for even more money now despite getting much less out of the experience. What used to feel luxurious today felt no more special than hanging out at the Y. Theyve even removed some of the toiletries! It seems quite clear the goal is to cut corners while attempting to maximize profits. Very sad. Before: Avani has ruined me for any other Spa. Their setup is absolutely incomparable, with a gorgeous and relaxing pool area surrounded by cushioned chaise lounges (and also features some outdoor seating). I especially enjoy the private womens steam room. There is also an aromatherapy room, sauna, and hot tub in the womens locker room. There is a coed sauna and hot tub in the main pool area. Room service can deliver lunch and drinks pool side. On days you prefer not to spend money on a service, you can enjoy the facilities for only a $25 day pass (except Saturdays during the winter season). Everything has been updated so that it feels quite luxurious. Robes and flip-flops are provided, as well as basic toiletries, including razors, shaving cream, spray deodorant, body lotion, and hairspray. While they no longer have a swimsuit spinner, they do provide plastic bags to transport your wet suit home. Its the perfect place to spend the day getting your Zen on!

This was always our go to spa for girls weekend . We were excited it was reopen . The hot tub in the womens locker was still closed. The new management has taken room service away you cannot eat at the spa or order real food. They have a tiny grab and go menu of smoothies , Or chocolate and nuts, or cheese and sausage . The day we went they were out of everything . When I told Ashley, in management, she was combative saying I was wrong they had food and arguing that spas don’t need food it’s not a restaurant. She then said what else is wrong ? Finally, Ashley called down and verified there was nothing but apple smoothies available. When I pointed out I was there all day , and diabetic - Ashley softened and worked with me to order from the restaurant and gave us our food for free ! The other front desk person Noah comes across as rude, he is anything but calming and often says there are no services but there are so asked someone else before assuming there are no services available when you visit . However, please be patient with him - he’s seems to just be very socially awkward and I believe trying his best . Overall , the spa itself is beautiful , a great place to read a book , or spend a lazy day at the pool. We did mani pedi and the ladies were super nice our nails look fabulous! The spa does offer free coffee , tea and hot chocolate, and flavored water. However , a big drawback is if you want to stay the day you have to get up, dressed , and leave to eat and then come back- it’s really breaks up the idea of a relaxing unwinding day at the spa . For this reason it’s dropped from five stars to 3.
